3D Castle Assignment - Hidden Citadel
It has been several months since I took my first-year design course last spring. My experience with it was condensed into a day or two so this project gave me more time to familiarize myself and learn new commands using the Rhino program. This castle was influenced by my Lord of the Rings movie marathon. I wanted to do something fantasy-esque and was inspired by the architectural elements from the elven cities. Many of these kingdoms are built around landscapes such as mountains and waterfalls, emphasizing their impressive heights and lighting. I also referenced Gothic architecture as I wanted to add some other interesting features like pointed windows and arches. Minas Tirith and Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. Initially, I wanted to have at least two or three layers to this castle on top of a terrain to achieve the imposing heights reached in the castles I drew inspiration from.
